Package Room Deployment
This guide is to explain how to properly plan for the package room to be install, the pre-requisites needed, and the installation itself.
Welcome to your ElevateOS Package Room! This guide will explain the package room planning, deployment and go-live. It will cover the pre-requisites needed for our package room system, the installation, configurations and go-live.
📝 What’s Included
Your ElevateOS Package Room hardware kit typically includes:
✅ iPad
✅ iPad Mount
✅ Igloo Switch
✅ Igloo Bridge
✅ Igloo Keypad (Optional)
Step 0: Building Prerequisites
-
Internet: There must be WiFi at the package room door location. The available network must support 2.4 Ghz or be multi-band
- Door Hardware: There must be electrified door hardware already installed with available input wiring based on the iGloo Switch requirements.
- Power: There must be a power source available for the iPad & iGloo access control devices (Bridge & Switch)
- Wall Mount: There must be a dedicated space available to fit the iPad wall mount. Wall mount sizing varies.
- We recommend having a physical backup entry key to the door
Step 1: Hardware Installation
These are primarily instructions if you plan to conduct a self-installation. You can share this overview with your installer. If you have hired us to install the system, then don't worry about these. The following can be done in any order, meaning you do not need to install the iPad first.
iPad Mount
- Install the iPad mount in your desired location at the package room entrance.
- Reference the iPad Mount Installation Guide for step-by-step instructions. This will vary based on the type of selected mount.
- We suggest installing the mount +iPad so the center of the screen is between 42-48 inches above finished floor but always refer to ADA and local laws
iPad Power
- Power through USB-C to POE converter or other direct source
- Once the iPad is powered on, confirm connectivity if it is through a POE/Data connection
- If the iPad is using WiFi, test connectivity
iGloo Switch
- Follow the Igloo Switch Installation Guide to wire the switch to control the door unlock mechanism.
- Verify physical wiring is secure.
- Download the iGloo App (iOS or Android)
- Login with your credentials (these will be provided via separate email)
- Follow the Igloo Switch Installation Guide to activate the device
- Test the unlocking command from the iGloo app several times to ensure the device is working correctly and the wiring is firing the input to release the hardware
iGloo Bridge
- See the Igloo Bridge Setup Guide for placement and power requirements.
- While not mandatory, we suggest adding a tamper proof cover to the bridge and the outlet it is plugged into.
- Follow the Igloo Bridge Setup Guide instructions to activate the device in the iGloo Home app and link it to the iGloo Switch
iGloo Keypad
- Use the Igloo Keypad Installation Guide for proper mounting.
- We suggest installing the keypad between 42-48 inches above finished floor but always refer to ADA and local laws
- Follow the Igloo Keypad Installation Guide instructions to activate the device in the iGloo Home app and link it to the iGloo Switch & Bridge
Step 2: App Activation
Once the iPad has power and connectivity and the iGloo devices are connected and properly linked in the iGloo app, proceed here:
- The iPad
- Open the Elevate Package Room App and follow the on-screen instructions
- If for some reason the iPad does not have the app pre-loaded, please download the app from the app store.
- If for some reason the app if failing to load the package room, reach out to support
Step 3: Full System Test
In order to properly test the system in production without confusing existing residents;
- Create a test resident user in your Elevate property account or;
- Use a staff member who also lives on-site
- Test & repeat the entire package delivery check-in process from the iPad delivery workflow
- Resident directory is fully synced (Look for other current residents as well)
- Photo capture works
- Door unlocking sync works
- Resident received package notification
- Test the resident code access
- Use the iPad to enter the resident code that is provided in the resident app
- Test the staff code access
- Use the iPad to enter the staff code that can be provided in the Elevate Hub app
Step 4: Launch!
After all testing is complete, you are good to go! Your package room is now live and fully operational!
- We do not automatically notify residents that the package room has been activated so feel free to use our announcement function to share the great news with all residents.
- If you created a test user, you can remove them now
- If you want to delete the test packages so they do not alter you data, you can manually delete that as well
Support & Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues:
