In App Ordering Settings

This is a guide to configure the in-app ordering experience for the market shop or restaurant

MarketShop Setup Configurations for In-App Ordering

1. Open MarketShop Setup

  • Go to Operations and navigate to MarketShop.
  • You’ll land on the Transaction Dashboard.
  • Click Market Setup to access the configuration options covered in this walkthrough.
  • These settings are primarily for the in-app ordering experience, not the self-serve kiosk.

2. Configure Tip Options

  • In Tips, set up to three tip fields.
  • Each tip field can be a dollar amount.
  • The app checkout can also include a custom tip option for users to enter their own amount.
  • Use the on-screen tooltips as a reference while configuring these values.

3. Set Delivery vs. Pickup Availability

  • Turn on Delivery to Me if users should be able to choose between pickup and delivery.
  • This is useful for concepts like room service or other delivery-based ordering.
  • Turn it off if your operation only supports pickup.

4. Choose Payment Methods and Labels

  • Use Pay by Card to allow card payments.
  • Turn it off if you only want to accept cash or another non-card method.
  • Use Pay by Cash to enable a cash-style payment option.
  • You can rename that option to something more specific, such as:
    • House Account
    • another custom label that fits your business model
  • The label you choose will appear in the resident app exactly as configured.
  • If you want only one payment type, disable the other option accordingly.

5. Restrict Ordering by Business Hours

  • Set Business Hours to control when residents can place orders.
  • Click a day to enable or disable it.
  • Select the start and stop times for each active day.
  • If someone opens the app outside those hours:
    • the shop will show as closed
    • the app will display the opening time
    • the user can still view the menu, but cannot submit an order

6. Save Changes

  • After making changes, click Save.
  • Updates will apply to the resident app immediately.
  • No additional delay or separate publishing step is needed.
